Halloween In The District with Verdi EcoSchool

Hi everyone!

Now that fall is here, that means it’s time for some spooky community fun! Every October, just down the street from The Melbourne Preschool, the Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD) transforms into a lively celebration of costumes, haunted hay rides, and trick-or-treating for Halloween In The District. This year the spooky festivities take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. There are a variety of EGAD small businesses and nonprofits who come together to bring Halloween In The District to life, and this autumn season we’re most excited for the haunted hayrides, Eau Gallie Cemetery tour, and costume contest hosted by Verdi EcoSchool! Let’s get into it!

The Verdi EcoSchool: Growing Curiosity, Creativity & Community in EGAD

Near the north end of EGAD, you’ll find the Verdi EcoSchool—an urban farm school where children learn by doing—gardening, working outdoors, and building real-world skills while staying active and connected to nature. The school’s mission blends environmental stewardship with hands-on learning, making it a one-of-a-kind nonprofit in our community.

At Halloween in the District, Verdi brings the spooky vibes with the classic haunted hayrides around the arts district and graveyard, as the Eau Gallie Cemetery (it’s over 120 years old!) has a local reputation for being haunted. You can catch the hayride in the heart of EGAD at New Visions Nursery’s patio. In addition to the hayride graveyard tours, Verdi EcoSchool also host the much-loved annual costume contest. Whether spooky, silly, or wildly imaginative, kids (and parents) love showing off their best Halloween looks.

On EGAD’s trick-or-treating route, Verdi EcoSchool hosted at New Visions is right in the middle of the action. Be sure to make a pit stop for their concession stand on your trick-or-treating rounds! Quick and convenient, they’ve got you covered with on-the-go snack and drinks.

Verdi EcoSchool’s events are family-friendly seasonal fun, with 100% of the proceeds helping support their nonprofit mission. Every hayride ticket or concession purchased, and every costume entry helps fund hands-on learning experiences for kids, as well as environmental education and stewardship, keeping us all better connected to nature and our community. We love a fun event for a good cause!

Halloween In The District is more than a seasonal festival—it’s a chance to celebrate together while supporting a great cause. We’ll see you there!

Toodleoo!
