π Oh, the Places You'll Go! β V.P.K Graduation Season
Hello friends!
Itβs that magical time of year again at The Melbourne Preschool βitβs almost VPK Graduation Season! π
Graduation marks the culmination of a full year of hard work, exploration, and discovery. Our students have blossomed across so many subjects: from language and letters (in both English and Spanish!) to art, math, geography, history, science, weather, and seasons. Each lesson has built the foundation for the next exciting chapter β kindergarten!
At The Melbourne Preschool, we believe that the best way for young children to showcase their learning is through song. Research shows that singing supports memory, language acquisition, and learning for preschoolers. According to a study published in Frontiers in Psychology (2020), singing helps children better encode and retrieve information and strengthens early language skills. Another study from The Journal of Research in Childhood Education found that music-based instruction significantly improved preschoolersβ literacy and comprehension abilities. π΅ In short: when kids sing, they donβt just learn and they remember - they also have fun! And that is what Graduation is all about!
Each year, we pick a fun theme for our VPK show. In past years, weβve celebrated with:
π΄ Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
π Reading Rainbow
π¬ Hollywood Red Carpet
βοΈ Adventure Awaits
π Out Of This World
This year, weβre thrilled to announce our theme:
Dr. Seussβs beloved classic β Oh, the Places Youβll Go! π
Our VPK students will perform a heartwarming musical show for their families and friends, dressed proudly in their caps and gowns. It all happens on the last day of VPK, and we warmly invite families to come and celebrate this huge milestone with us.
We are so proud of our graduates and all they have accomplished- and we can't wait to see all the wonderful places theyβll go!
Congratulations, The Melbourne Preschool Class of 2025! ππ
