A Season of Gratitude at The Melbourne Preschool
Hello friends!
As Florida’s fall brings us a few cooler mornings (and plenty of pumpkin-spiced everything), we at The Melbourne Preschool find ourselves reflecting on just how much there is to appreciate this Thanksgiving season.
And truly, it’s a lot.
Our Pop-Up Food Bank
This year, our hearts have been especially touched by the kindness of our families. Your donations and support made it possible to create our Pop-Up Food Bank, helping local households affected by the recent SNAP pause.
Food insecurity is an issue close to our mission as a school. It’s one of the many reasons we proudly serve fresh, seasonal, from-scratch meals every day. We believe children learn best when they’re nourished—body and mind—and your involvement helped extend that care beyond our campus.
Our Creative and Dedicated Teachers
Our teachers have been busy filling classrooms with hands-on activities, colorful crafts, and meaningful conversations. In VPK, students have been learning about the Ais people, the Indigenous community native to Florida’s Atlantic coast, along with age-appropriate lessons on the history of Thanksgiving in the United States. These thoughtful explorations help children build cultural understanding and connect with the world in a deeper way.
Harvest Time… and Farm Friends!
And of course, one highlight of the season was the always-popular visit from the petting farm at Cox Farms! The goats were charmingly nosy, the bunnies irresistibly soft, and the smiles absolutely contagious. It’s a tradition our students adore—and one we’re happy to keep hopping along!
Warm Wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving
To our families, teachers, and friends: thank you for being such an important part of our school community. Your kindness, involvement, and support are what make The Melbourne Preschool feel like a home!
As a reminder, we will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and on Friday, November 28th. VPK Fall Break runs all week, from Monday, November 24th to Friday, November 28th.
From all of us here, we wish you a happy, healthy, and joyful Thanksgiving!
Toodleoo!
