Every season brings new opportunities for children to grow in different ways—whether it’s through creative play, exploring nature, celebrating with family, or simply sharing daily routines with friends and teachers. Research has shown these kinds of hands-on, engaging experiences help build the social, emotional, and thinking skills that form the foundation for lifelong learning.
Here’s a glimpse at what each season brings to our little preschool center located in the heart of Melbourne, Florida:
☀️ Summer
Summer in Florida can get hot, but we make the most of it! Our days are filled with water play, foam parties, homemade popsicles, workshops including cooking and STEM classes, and visits from a variety of special guests and community heroes like NASA, Brevard Zoo, our local firefighters, and our local senior homes for afternoon storytime.
🍂 Autumn
As the school year begins, we dive into new routines and celebrations. The petting farm comes to visit and lessons about farming come to life. We decorate pumpkins for our Halloween parade, and gather with families for our Fall Festival and Thanksgiving lunch. It’s a time for learning, exploring, and connecting with each other.
❄️ Winter
While much of the country bundles up in snow gear, our winter is a great time to be outside! Cooler weather means more outdoor play and activities, while inside we enjoy pajama day, holiday cookie decorating, and a “Winter Wonderland” classroom decorating contest. It’s a season full of comfort and creativity!
🌸 Spring
Spring brings growth—both in our garden and in our classrooms. We plant and care for flowers and vegetable plants, watch butterflies hatch, hunt for Easter eggs, and start preparing for our big moment: VPK graduation. It’s a joyful and meaningful end to a great year!
Then summer returns, and we do it all over again—with new friends and fresh fun!
